Full Steam Ahead

Founded in 2012, Steam is a fully integrated third-party logistics provider, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and with 11 other offices around the U.S. We deliver multi-modal solutions for more than 5,000 customers globally, from Fortune 500 companies to the SMB market. Our solutions include domestic transportation, international ocean and air freight, customs brokerage, drayage solutions, and intermodal transport.

Unlike one-dimensional 3PLs or freight brokerages, Steam can deliver value across the entire supply chain, bringing an elevated service experience to each touchpoint along the way. Whether your needs are around the corner or around the world, trust Steam to deliver on our promises so you can deliver on yours.

Reshaping Third-Party Logistics

Customer Focused

Obsess Over the Customer. This is one of core maxims.

We focus on building long-term relationships with every client - no matter how large or small. We always keep decision making as close to our customers as possible, and that allows us to move fast, remain proactive, and deliver on deadlines. There are no unimportant shipments.

Technology Enabled

Technology is at the core of everything we do. We deliver complete end-to-end visibility throughout even the most complex of supply chains and our solutions are completely custom to each customer. No cookie cutter solutions here.

Our Culture

We’re driven by our company maxims

Our maxims guide us and and influence our mission—
To be our customers’ #1 choice as a logistics partner.

We are passionate about our team.

At Steam Logistics, diversity is an integral part of our history, culture, and identity. To be engaged as an employee, you must feel included and valued. Steam endeavors to continue building and nurturing a culture where inclusiveness is a reflex, not an initiative – where there is a deep sense of pride, passion, and belonging that transcends any role or business unit. This continuous reinvestment in our unique, fun, and quirky culture fuels our innovation and connects us closer to our customers. #FullSteamAhead

We constantly push the status quo.

Settling doesn’t reside in our vocabulary. Doing just enough to get the job done is not acceptable, and average doesn’t cut it. Even good isn’t sufficient. We compete fiercely to be the best in all we do. We set a high standard for ourselves and expect every team member in the company to meet or exceed our customers’ needs. This means having honest conversations with vendors and customers, taking ownership of setbacks, and constantly striving to deliver the perfect customer experience.

Our mission is to be our customers' #1 logistics provider.

Our exceptional service differentiates us from thousands of other logistics companies in the industry. We are the experts that customers rely on. Our obsession with our customers guarantees we are a partner, and not another vendor. Customers should view us as an extension of their teams.

Whatever it takes is the backbone of our process.

Being a gritty person means that we stick to our goals despite the challenges we face. A person with true grit doesn’t pass the buck; they don’t use excuses like, “it slipped through the cracks”, or “that’s the way we’ve always done it.” We innovate, test, and learn. We overcome obstacles and keep moving forward.

Together, we learn, grow, refine, and win.

The best ideas win. Having rigorous debate around key decisions is a good thing. All major players that will be affected with a decision need to be involved. We welcome disagreements, but once something has been decided, that’s it. Accept it and commit. No undermining the decision afterward. In fact, you must be able to articulate why it’s the right decision and even defend it to other team members.

Doing things with integrity is not optional or situational.

It’s simple - just always do the right thing, no matter how hard it might be. Listen to your conscience and act on it, even (especially) when no one is looking.
